How to Install OpenVPN Connect for Windows
- Go to the OpenVPN website and download the OpenVPN Connect client for Windows.
- Once the download is complete, open the OpenVPN Connect installer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install OpenVPN Connect.
- Once OpenVPN Connect is installed, open it.
- You will be prompted to create a new profile.
- To do this, click the Import Profile option under the menu and select the file tab to install the OpenVPN config file you want to import.**
- If this is a Dedicated Instance, click connect, there will be no password prompt, and it should connect immediately.
- If this is a shared profile you will be asked to enter your username and password. These will be your email/password generated and contained within your activation email. Please note the billing and VPN passwords are separate for security purposes.
- OpenVPN Connect will now connect to the OpenVPN server.
**Dedicated Server profiles are located on your client area dashboard. Shared VPN profiles are downloaded from the download page.

How to Use OpenVPN Connect for Windows
Once you are connected to an OpenVPN server, your internet traffic will be routed through the VPN. This will encrypt your traffic and protect your privacy.
Click the Disconnect button in the OpenVPN Connect toolbar to disconnect from the VPN.
Here are some additional tips for using OpenVPN Connect:
- You can add multiple profiles to OpenVPN Connect. This allows you to connect to different OpenVPN servers.
- You can also create a shortcut to OpenVPN Connect on your desktop. This will allow you to connect to the VPN with a single click.
- If you are having trouble connecting to the VPN, ensure the OpenVPN server is up and running. You can also check the OpenVPN logs for any errors or contact support.
