IKEv2 is a type of VPN protocol that is known for its speed, security, and reliability. It is a good choice for users who need a VPN connection for everyday use, such as browsing the web, streaming video, and gaming.
To set up an IKEv2 connection on Windows 11, follow these steps:
- Open the Settings app.
- Click on Network & Internet.
- Click on VPN.
- Click the Add VPN button.
- In the VPN provider drop-down menu, select Windows (built-in).
- In the Connection name field, enter a name for your VPN connection, for example, PremierVPN NY
- In the Server name or address field, enter the hostname of the PremierVPN IKEv2 VPN server that you want to connect to use from the list below. For example, we will use ny2.premiervpn.net

- In the Type of sign-in info drop-down menu, select Username and password.
- In the Username field, enter the VPN username you received in your Activation Email.
- In the Password field, enter the VPN password you received in your Activation Email.
- If you want to save your sign-in information, check the Remember my sign-in info box.
- Click the Save button; it should look the same as the below screenshots.
Your VPN connection has now been created. To connect to the VPN, simply click on the Connect button next to the VPN connection that you created.
Troubleshooting
If you are having trouble connecting to your IKEv2 VPN, try the following:
- Ensure you have entered the correct server name or address, username, and password.
- Make sure that your VPN server is online and accepting connections.
- Try restarting your computer.
